Director promotions at Dixon Wilson

The partners of Dixon Wilson are delighted to announce three promotions to director with effect from 1 April 2024: Tom Darby, Claire Skipper and James Oliver.

Tom joined Dixon Wilson in 2014 and is dually qualified as a both a Chartered Accountant and Tax Adviser. Tom manages a varied client portfolio with a particular focus on high net worth individuals and landed estates. He provides advisory and compliance services to families, their trusts and their businesses. Tom aims to be proactive, ensuring the advice he provides is pragmatic and tailored towards helping his clients achieve their objectives.

Claire joined Dixon Wilson after a brief career in academia and now focuses her analytical and logical mindset on solving the technical problems of her clients. Individuals with their associated Trusts, Estates and companies make up the majority of Claire’s portfolio. Claire specialises in complex UK tax compliance, advisory and planning including in relation to Offshore/Non-dom matters, Inheritance Tax (IHT), Private Equity and divorce. However, Claire’s dual qualification and breadth of knowledge mean that you have a single point of contact for both your complex tax problems as well as the accounts preparation of your Trust, charity or company.

James joined Dixon Wilson as a Senior Manager in November 2022 following a three-year role with PwC in New Zealand, where he worked with wealthy inbound and outbound private clients, and supported a partner in launching and building out a new high net worth private client offering. James has 11 years of experience in private client tax, CTA qualifying through the individuals and trusts pathway in 2016. At Dixon Wilson, James leads a mixed portfolio of private client advisory and compliance engagements across both individuals and trusts. In the past 16 months, James has been involved with various advisory, disclosure and enquiry work broadly covering offshore trusts, IHT and estate planning, funds and carried interest, property transactions, business sales and financial disputes. At the core of most of his work is a private client focus for internationally mobile foreign nationals, with complex offshore interests.
